Hershey’s Track and Field Games

Hershey Track and Field Program

Hershey’s Track & Field Program was created over 30 yrs ago to promote youth physical fitness and provide fun learning experience for children 9 to 14 yrs of age.

It all begins at the local level with a playground, physical education or special event form of participation sponsored by your local school, park & recreation, track club, or leisure services agency.

Participants will compete against other children from their local area, and have an opportunity to advance to a District Meet, the State Championship Meet, and ultimately qualify for the North American Final Meet held in Hershey PA.

Each youth track & field meet offers running events like the 50 Meter Dash and the 800 Meter Run, plus field events like the Softball Throw and the Long Jump.  There are plenty of choices, and it doesn’t matter how fast you can run or how far you can jump or throw – everyone’s a winner!

Pennsylvania Recreation & Park Society is the State Meet Sponsor.

PA Recreation & Park Society Receives Gary W. McQuaid Volunteer Award

The Gary W. McQuaid  Award is presented annually to the volunteer/group who has made the greatest contribution toward furthering the ideals and goals of the Hershey's track & Field Games.  This award is Hershey's highest form of recognition, honoring those who have helped to grow the program and promote youth fitness.

Pennsylvania recreation and park society has been involved the past 30 years as a strong state sponsor for the program.  Working with local recreation and park agencies across the state, PRPS annually helps to bring Hershey's track and field games to thousands of youngsters in many communities.  The commitment of significant staff time and resources has also been a tradition for PRPS.

In the spirit of Milton Hershey, the Pennsylvania Recreation & Park Society is strongly committed to the youth of the Commonwealth and finds Hershey's Track & Field Games to be a perfect way to meet that goal
