Wildlands Conservancy is currently seeking River Safety Guides to assist with our Bike & Boat Program. This program involves canoeing non-whitewater stretches of the Lehigh River through the Lehigh Valley and bicycling along the Lehigh Navigation Canal Towpath (the D & L Trail). Trips are educational in nature; our program uses the River corridor to educate schools, other private groups, and the general public about river ecology and history themed concepts. Essential Functions of the Position:
• Work on a seasonal, part-time, as needed basis with an emphases on weekends;
• Safety guidance and professional leadership on Bike & Boat trips;
• Assist with education components and lessons;

Working Conditions:
Our Bike & Boat Programs go rain or shine as long as conditions are safe. Successful candidates can expect to work outside, 4-10 hour days and should be aware that there is a possibility of trips during inclement weather. Trip occurrence is inconsistent at times; our busiest seasons are during May and June. There is significant weekend work, sometimes exclusively during the summer months. Candidates must be aware that this is a part-time, as needed position and hours will fluctuate.

Camp F.L.E.I.G. is a Summer Resident camp beginning summer of 2012, the camp will run June 17th – July 28th 2012. This is a resident camp and overnight sleeping is required. Salary for these positions is in the form of a stipend.

Summer Camp Site Supervisor- Part time (posted January 10, 2012)

Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, is currently accepting applications for individuals to work in the Parks and Recreation Department as Site Supervisors for the 2012 Camp Perkiomy Summer Camp Season. Applicants will be responsible for the preparation, administration, and monitoring of all activities and will supervise the day-to-day operations at the campsite. The Site Supervisors must possess strong leadership and supervisory skills as well as strong administrative abilities and a creative mind.
The Site Supervisor will work closely with group leaders, camp staff, campers and parents. This person is under the general supervision of the Camp Director. Site Supervisors will be responsible for the supervision of all camp staff while on duty. Site Supervisors must be able to work under time constraints, multi-task, and work independently as well as within a team.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Primarily responsible for the delegation of duties of all staff members
- Recommends and carries out new ideas and activities
- Maintains proper documentation, appropriate records, and prepares reports as needed
- Provides in-camp disciplinary action, if necessary
- Ensures the site has adequate camp supplies/equipment
- Responsible to oversee the planning and implementation of camp activities ensuring everyone is informed and prepared at the beginning of each day
- Responsible to keep all staff informed of any program changes
- Responsible to evaluate programs on a weekly basis and suggest alternatives and ensure changes are made if deemed necessary
- Responsible to leave the facilities in a clean and orderly condition at all times
- Responsible to complete all Time Sheet Reports in a concise manner and submit to Camp Director prior to pay check issuance
- In the event of absence/illness of any staff member, ensures that suitable changes to the program or daily agenda are made
- Creates and distributes the weekly camp newsletter
- Acts as the primary liaison between camp staff and parents

General Responsibilities:
• Plans, organizes and executes community events, recreation programs, services and activities, inclusive of senior programing
• Develops programs to meet community needs; works with Parks and Recreation Board , local and volunteer organizations in developing and promoting parks and recreation services
• Responsible for park planning and park development, and ongoing capital improvements to parks and recreation facilities in concert with Public Works and Development Directors
General supervision: is provided by the Township Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from a college with bachelor's degree in recreation, education or physical education including course work in organization and administration; four years of progressively responsible experience in parks, recreation and senior programs; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the principles and practices of maintenance and use of public buildings and park facilities. Strong understanding of leadership principles and practices, office management functions and work organization. Collier Township offers competitive salary and benefit package, commensurate with experience and education.
Compensation: $50-55,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
